Description
Mimori Kiryuu is a young woman in her late teens who serves as a research scientist for HOLY, the elite Alter-user unit operating within the larger HOLD organization. She is the daughter of Tadanori Kiryuu, a wealthy investor who serves as the main financial backer of both HOLD and HOLY. Despite her privileged background on the Mainland, Mimori was born in the Lost Ground and moved away at a young age. As a child, she was taken to the Lost Ground to become acquainted with the region, and there she met a shy young boy named Ryuho. When Ryuho inadvertently activated his Alter power out of fear, a piece of a column vanished and left a crude triangular stone on the ground between them. Unlike most people, Mimori was not frightened; she was fascinated by the Alter phenomenon. She kept that stone as a keepsake and wears it as a pendant throughout the story.
Mimori shows exceptional intellectual ability, graduating from college and completing graduate school by the age of eighteen. She joins HOLY as a research scientist, making her the only member of the unit who does not possess an Alter power. Her primary motivation is to reunite with Ryuho, with whom she shares an unresolved romantic past, and to understand the deeper truths about Alter users and the Lost Ground.
