TV-Series
Description
Nianzol Weizol is a Quincy and a member of the Wandenreich's inner circle of warriors known as the Sternritter, holding the designation W for The Wind. He is a young man with gray eyes, long, shaggy black hair, and two tongues. He typically wears a white, double-breasted, collarless trenchcoat and appears barefoot. Very little is revealed about his past or personal history; he exists in the story solely as a servant of the Quincy King, Yhwach.
Nianzol's personality is marked by arrogance and a provocative demeanor. He speaks with condescension toward his enemies, dismissing their efforts as futile. He displays unwavering loyalty to Yhwach and carries out his duties with an air of self-assuredness, confident that his ability makes him untouchable.
His motivations are thoroughly aligned with Yhwach's goals. He does not express personal ambition or doubt; his purpose is to protect Yhwach and facilitate the Quincy invasion of the Royal Palace. He is brought along by Yhwach, traveling within his shadow to reach the Soul King's Palace, and acts as a personal guard, clearing a path by deflecting or redirecting any opposition.
Nianzol's primary role in the story occurs during the assault on the Royal Palace. He emerges from Yhwach's shadow and uses his Schrift to neutralize attacks directed at Yhwach, allowing the King to advance unimpeded. He briefly confronts the Zero Division member Senjumaru Shutara, mocking her for attacking despite the apparent uselessness of her efforts. However, he is ultimately outmaneuvered by a clever trap set by Shutara, which results in his death. His appearance is therefore brief but impactful, showcasing the threat posed by even lesser-ranked Sternritter in the final battle.
Key relationships are limited. His primary connection is to Yhwach, whom he serves with absolute fidelity. He has no notable interactions with other Sternritter or Soul Reapers beyond his combat engagement with Senjumaru Shutara. There is no character development; he appears, demonstrates his power, and is killed without any change in his nature or perspective.
Nianzol's notable ability is his Schrift, The Wind. This power allows him to instinctively sense and deflect any incoming attack, bending or twisting it away from himself or his target without needing to see it. He can also use the ability offensively by moving his finger toward an opponent, which causes their body to bend out of the way, effectively cutting them in half by separating their torso from their limbs. The ability works on both physical projectiles and directed energy, making him a formidable defensive asset. Despite its potency, his overconfidence in The Wind proves to be his downfall, as it cannot protect against a trap that does not rely on a direct attack.
