Description
Nozomi Mitaka is a second-year high school student and a childhood friend of Mai Otonashi. She is a member of the Ikkokukan High School bowling club, having taken up the sport at Mai’s encouragement. Nozomi is outgoing, confident, and often comes across as high-handed or arrogant, with an outspoken attitude that sometimes borders on condescending. She occasionally appears in teen magazines as a reader model, and her personal dream is to become a top model. She pursues bowling not only as a club activity but also as a way to gain visibility and make a debut in the entertainment industry, aiming to be seen as a “too beautiful girl” who excels both on the lanes and in front of the camera. Despite her confident exterior, her drive to excel is not especially intense, and she treats her modeling and bowling more as complementary interests than all-consuming passions. Within the story, Nozomi is one of the five club members who are transported back in time to the Sengoku period after a lightning strike hits a mysterious artifact during a bowling match. Her role in the group includes providing a fashionable, sociable presence and occasionally clashing with others, such as when she gets angry at Anzu, a girl from the Sengoku-era village, for harassing her. Her key relationship is with Mai, her childhood friend, and she also interacts closely with the other club members. Over the course of the time‑travel adventure, Nozomi’s initial focus on her modeling ambitions gradually broadens as she learns to work with the group to find a way home, though her core personality remains confident and spirited. Her notable abilities include a decent level of bowling skill, which she applies during both modern and historical matches, and a keen sense of fashion that makes her stand out among the club.
