TV-Series
Description
Diplo is a traveling cat who appears in the second season of the series as a companion and guide to Come-Come. He leads a wandering lifestyle, journeying from place to place in search of his own family. His travels eventually lead him to a deep and meaningful connection with Come-Come, who finds Diplo to be a cool figure and decides to join him on his journey for a time.
Personality wise, Diplo is portrayed as a free-spirited and experienced traveler with a distinct philosophy about exploring the world. He explains to Come-Come that a traveler must learn to feel things rather than simply move from one location to another. His teaching style is notably playful and allows Come-Come to learn from his own mistakes, a method that proves to be effective and delightful for the younger cat. While he is serious about the lessons of survival and travel, there is a playfulness to his character that comes as an unexpected but welcome surprise to Come-Come.
Throughout his travels with Come-Come, Diplo takes on the role of both a mentor and a friend. He introduces Come-Come to a much larger world beyond the confines of the park, showing him wide-open spaces, mountains, and the skills needed to survive on the road. His approach to teaching survival is presented as being similar to how the cat Blackie instructed others, but with a notable difference in his more hands-off and encouraging manner.
The relationship between Diplo and Come-Come is a central focus of their shared storyline. Their bond grows strong enough that when they eventually part ways, there is a sense of sadness, yet it is understood that Diplo will always have a home wherever Come-Come is, and that they will be able to reconnect easily in the future. Diplo's personal motivation involves continuing his journey to locate his own family, though circumstances suggest they may have moved overseas. Despite this, his path crosses with Come-Come's at a pivotal moment, and his influence helps define the direction of Come-Come's life for a period, offering him a chance to live on his own terms. Notable abilities include his extensive knowledge of travel and survival, his skill at navigating different terrains like mountains, and his capacity to teach these important lessons to a younger cat in an engaging and effective way.
