Moruk Laplamiz is a female Meltrandi, a member of the female branch of the alien Zentradi race, and serves as a high-ranking commander within the fleet that bears her name, the Laplamiz Meltlandi fleet. She appears in the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross television series as well as in the theatrical film The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?. In the television series, she is one of the fleet commanders under the supreme Zentradi leader Golg Boddole Zer. She is a skilled and capable military leader who commands immense respect from her subordinates, most notably the ace pilot Milia Fallyna Jenius, in whom she places great trust. Laplamiz views her soldiers as instruments of war, and she is particularly invested in Milia’s development as a perfect weapon. Following Boddole Zer’s defeat during Space War I, Laplamiz chooses to defect from the Zentradi cause rather than continue a losing battle, demonstrating a pragmatic sense of survival. In the film version, her role is altered: she is depicted as an ultra-large holographic computer projection that commands the Laplamiz-class mobile fortress, a vessel of immense size comparable to the Zentradi Gol Boddole Zer mobile fortress. This holographic form is composed of energy with optical fiber-like strands connected to her head and shoulders, representing a different interpretation of her character. Laplamiz is recognized for her strategic acumen and her unwavering dedication to her mission, though her motivations are ultimately rooted in duty and the warrior ethos of the Zentradi. She has violet hair and grey eyes. In the American adaptation of the series as part of Robotech, her name is changed to Azonia.
