Description
Hanna is a character from the Finnish-set anime who serves as a temporary antagonist. Her background reveals that she had previously been employed at the Reikola manor. She returns to work there in the autumn of the year the protagonist, Katri, arrives, but her true purpose is not honest labor. Beneath the surface of a hired hand, Hanna is a thief.

In terms of personality, Hanna is depicted as someone whose outward seriousness borders on being overbearing. This very quality seems to cause friction, as she harbors a strong dislike for Katri, possibly resenting the girl's genuine earnestness. Her personality clashes fundamentally with others as well, and she does not get along with the farm dog Abel, finding his presence an obstacle to her scheming.

Hanna's primary motivation is theft. She infiltrates the Reikola household specifically to steal wool. Her role in the story is that of an obstacle and a source of conflict. She creates tension within the manor due to her disagreements with the other servants and her animosity toward Katri. Her actions escalate when she resorts to tying up Abel with rope to prevent him from interfering with her plans. However, her scheme is ultimately thwarted by the quick thinking of Grandmother Guninra, forcing Hanna to flee the Reikola manor under duress.

The character's development shows a marked turn for the worse after her initial escape. When she later reunites with Katri in an unintended manner, her previous dislike hardens into a vindictive grudge that borders on blaming Katri for her own failures. At this point, her actions become far more sinister. She attempts to sell Katri to slave traders, demonstrating a complete lack of remorse and a deeply cruel nature. She also deals a severe emotional blow to another character named Martti, solidifying her role as a genuinely malicious individual.

Regarding notable abilities, Hanna does not possess any special or fantastical powers. Her primary skills are rooted in deception, manipulation, and her capacity for planning a theft. Her most defining trait is her willingness to escalate from petty crime to much more serious offenses, such as attempted human trafficking, when her plans are disrupted.
