Description
General Dagon serves as a flag officer within the Galman Empire's military, commanding a significant portion of its fleet during the events of the Bolar Wars. He is a dedicated and aggressive commander who leads the Galman Eastern Task Force, operating primarily in the Barnard's Star system and near the planet Berth. A proud and ambitious officer, Dagon is deeply committed to the Galman cause and shows considerable hostility toward the crew of the Earth battleship Argo, which he views as a persistent and formidable obstacle to his objectives.

Dagon is characterized by a fierce and often volatile temperament. His pride is easily wounded, leading to intense outbursts of rage when his plans fail. Following a significant defeat at the hands of the Argo, he suffers a humiliating reprimand from his superior, Admiral Smeardom, who threatens him with the severe punishment of roboticization, a process implied to strip an individual of free will and reduce them to a mindless cyborg soldier. This incident leaves Dagon enraged and humiliated, fueling his personal vendetta against the Earth vessel and driving him to demand his subordinates locate and destroy it at any cost.

In his role within the narrative, Dagon acts as an early and persistent antagonist for the Star Force. He first engages the Argo while it is attempting to aid the damaged ship Legendra, commanded by Captain Ram of Berth. Disregarding a negotiation for a repair period, Dagon orders an immediate attack on both the Legendra and the Argo, dragging the Earth ship directly into the ongoing conflict between the Galman Empire and the Bolar Federation. His pursuit of the Star Force is relentless; he continues his assault near the 11th planet, escalating the battle and ordering a boarding party to attack the Argo after one of his vessels collides with it. Despite his aggressive tactics and the deployment of a massive warfleet, Dagon is repeatedly outmaneuvered and defeated by the Star Force, leading to a deep-seated hatred for his enemy and a determination to succeed where he has previously failed.

His key relationships are defined by his allegiance to the Galman Empire and his enmity towards Earth's forces. He acts on behalf of the Galman leadership, receiving direct orders from Admiral Smeardom. His primary adversary is the crew of the Argo, including Commander Wildstar, whose tactical acumen consistently counters Dagon's aggressive maneuvers. The destruction of his base and a large portion of his fleet by the Star Force is a central event that shapes his animosity and motivates his subsequent actions.

While Dagon does not undergo a significant personal transformation, his development is marked by escalating frustration and a single-minded obsession with destroying the Argo. Once a confident commander leading a formidable task force, his repeated failures degrade his position and composure, turning him into a desperate and vengeful adversary determined to use every resource at his command, including the very tides of space, to achieve victory.

As a military leader, Dagon commands a fleet of Galman warships equipped with powerful weaponry, including long-range missiles capable of traversing interstellar distances at remarkable speed. He is able to deploy boarding parties in close-quarters combat and can order his vessels to perform tactical maneuvers such as warp jumps. His authority allows him to command the resources of a vast empire, including the ability to assemble a new, massive warfleet after suffering devastating losses.
