Description
Concetta resides in Italy with her husband and sons, Marco and Tonio. Struggling against economic hardship, she accepts a job in Argentina to earn money for one son's medical treatment. She departs for Argentina, labors as a seamstress, and sends earnings home.

After a time, her letters to Italy cease abruptly. Growing concerned, her younger son Marco sets out alone for Argentina to find her.

Marco's search uncovers that Concetta fell gravely ill shortly after her last communication. The illness required hospitalization, leaving her incapable of work or correspondence. During her hospital recovery, consumed by worry for her family in Italy, she remained unaware they knew nothing of her plight.

Her condition improves markedly upon Marco's arrival at the hospital. The emotional reunion with her son acts as a catalyst igniting her recovery. Following discharge, Concetta and Marco journey back to Italy together, reuniting with their family.
