TV-Series
Description
Kenta Amano resides with his cousin Haruka Amano and their grandfather, Dr. Hiroshi Amano at the Amano Peace Science Laboratory. As an energetic elementary school boy, he possesses a cheerful and bold nature, though this is sometimes balanced by hotheaded tendencies. Despite his young age, he displays considerable courage, actively stepping forward in situations that would terrify most people. Unlike Haruka, who is portrayed as more studious and mature, Kenta absolutely hates studying and his grades are not particularly good, yet he demonstrates a different kind of intelligence through his practical skills and quick thinking in the field.

Kenta forms a deep and immediate friendship with Yuutarou Katori, the human identity used by the Space Police Force commander Fighbird. This bond is so significant that Kenta becomes the first Earthling to join the Space Police Force, viewing Katori as an elder brother figure. He actively assists Katori in adapting to human society, frequently intervening to prevent accidental exposure of the Space Police Force's activities. The two spend a great deal of time together and get along like real brothers, with Kenta accompanying Katori on most missions.

Kenta's role in the story evolves significantly over the course of the conflict against the antagonistic forces led by Draias and Dr. Jango. Initially providing reconnaissance support and maintaining vital communication links between Katori and the Rescue base, he gradually moves toward direct participation in strategic countermeasures against escalating threats, including defending entire nations and thwarting planetary-scale schemes. His involvement spans terrestrial battles against mechanized beasts known as Mecha-Juu, hostage situations where he shows remarkable poise, and various crisis scenarios that demand quick thinking and bravery. In several episodes, Kenta's performance proves crucial to the mission's success, notably in episode 35 where he stops a malfunctioning atmospheric element purifier.

Katori equips Kenta with Wrister, a wristwatch-shaped robotic communicator that can be used for reconnaissance, self-defense, and small tasks. Later in the series, he is also armed with an Anti-Teshita Gun, which can disable Draias's mechanical footsoldiers. Beyond these tools, Kenta demonstrates an ability to pilot the Fire Jet, showcasing a mechanical aptitude that contrasts with his academic struggles. His talents extend to being a quick thinker who supports Katori in numerous practical ways during field operations.

Throughout the series, Kenta works alongside various human allies including Inspector Satsuda and Dr. Yoshiko Kunieda, who eventually learn of the Space Police Force's existence. He also interacts with the reformed thieves Ippei and Goro after they join the laboratory's rescue efforts. His duties extend beyond combat to daily life at the laboratory, where he assists Haruka with household tasks amidst Dr. Amano's experimental work. His courage and dedication to protecting Earth, alongside his close relationship with Katori, embody the series themes of interspecies cooperation and shared guardianship of the planet.
