Description
Dora is a character from the 1971 anime film Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. He is the leader of a group of thirty-eight stray cats who are captured during a kingdom-wide hunt ordered by the tyrannical ruler, Ali Baba the 33rd. As the boss of these cats, Dora is portrayed as a strong and commanding figure within his feline group.

Following their rescue by a young boy named Al Huck and his mouse companion, Kajiru, Dora and his thirty-eight followers pledge their loyalty to Huck. This decision is driven by gratitude and a shared sense of purpose, as the group learns that Huck is the descendant of a former thief leader who was defeated by the first Ali Baba. Motivated by this connection and the injustices they have witnessed, Dora joins Huck's cause to reclaim the stolen treasure from the current king and to oppose his oppressive rule.

Dora's primary role in the story is as a key ally and formidable fighter for Huck's group, which reconstitutes the legendary forty thieves. He maintains a close leadership bond with his fellow cats and is a loyal follower of Huck, fighting alongside him against the king and a genie from a magic lamp who is afraid of cats. Throughout the film, Dora and his group demonstrate remarkable courage and resourcefulness, using their natural abilities to confront the king's forces. In the final confrontation, Dora notably uses a bomb attached to his back to propel himself into the fray against the genie, showcasing his bravery and willingness to take risks for the success of their mission.
