Description
Kyōko Inaba is a student in Class 5-3 at Dōmori Elementary School, where the events of Jigoku Sensei Nūbē: Gozen Reiji Nūbē Shisu take place. She first encountered her teacher, Meisuke Nueno, years before the story began when he saved her from an inari spirit while he was still a college student. This early rescue established a deep foundation of trust and admiration, and she remains one of the students who believes in and supports him the most. Kyōko is characterized by her bright orange hair and spirited temperament. She is generally caring and protective of her classmates and teacher, often looking out for their welfare with genuine emotional investment. When someone she cares about is in danger, she reacts with strong concern and determination. However, she also has a quick and sometimes violent temper that can frustrate her friends and even Nube himself, though this fire cools as the series progresses. Her motivations are rooted in loyalty and a sense of responsibility toward those around her; she wants to help Nube protect the class from supernatural threats and ensure everyone’s safety. Within the film’s story, she plays a key supporting role as one of the students who becomes caught up in the crisis involving a transfer student named Jun Kagami and the malevolent mirror clown. She works alongside her classmates to both survive the ordeal and help Jun break free from his loneliness. Her relationships are defined by a love-hate rivalry with her close friend Miki Hosokawa, whose teasing often sparks comedic conflict, and a gradually developing hidden romantic interest in Hiroshi Tateno, despite initially finding him annoying. Over time, Kyōko matures, learning to channel her impulsiveness into more constructive action. In later sequels, she even becomes a teacher herself, following Nube’s example. While she possesses no supernatural abilities herself, her courage, strong will, and emotional intelligence make her an invaluable ally in confronting spiritual dangers.
