Description
Momoko Morita is the central female character in the anime adaptation of Tetsuya Aikawa's erotic manga. She is a young woman with a strong, unconventional personality and a single-minded ambition to become an actress, modeling herself after Marilyn Monroe. In her day-to-day life before the story begins, she works as an advertising figure in front of a supermarket, handing out flyers. Her appearance and mannerisms are deliberately styled to emulate Monroe, and she frequently refers to herself as the future Japanese incarnation of the star.
Her personality is marked by a complete lack of inhibitions or complexes. She is bold, forward, and pragmatic about her needs and desires. When she loses her sidewalk advertising job after a chance encounter with the salaryman Kentaro Minami, she does not react with despair; instead, she sees an opportunity and unilaterally decides to move into his apartment as a live-in partner, offering housekeeping and a sexual relationship in exchange for shelter and support. This direct, action-oriented approach defines her role in the story as a catalyst who disrupts the existing order of Kentaro's life, including his engagement to the wealthy and selfish Reiko.
Within the narrative, Momoko's motivations are twofold: she pursues her dream of becoming an actress, and she seeks a secure, comfortable living situation. After moving in with Kentaro, she further inserts herself into his world by obtaining a job at the same electronics company where he works, SOBY, thereby complicating his attempts to conceal their arrangement from his fiancée and colleagues. She is also the owner of a pet iguana, which adds to her quirky, free-spirited image.
Her key relationships are primarily with Kentaro Minami, the beleaguered salaryman who becomes both her reluctant host and her lover; Haruo, Kentaro's old study mate and roommate, who observes the situation with bemusement; and Reiko, Kentaro's fiancée and the boss's daughter, who represents the conventional life Kentaro is expected to lead. Momoko does not develop significantly over the course of the story; rather, she remains consistently assertive and without shame, using her charm and lack of compunctions to navigate her circumstances. She possesses no supernatural or extraordinary abilities; her notable traits are her theatrical ambition, her fearlessness, and her willingness to act decisively to get what she wants.
