Description
In Fist of the North Star: Legend of Raoh: Chapter of Fierce Fighting, Giraku serves as the self-serving chief advisor to Raoh's army, known as the Ken-Oh forces. His background is largely defined by his subservient position to the series' primary antagonist, where he operates as a sycophantic and smarmy minion. One of his most distinctive physical traits is a wig that he wears and is often seen struggling to keep straight.
Giraku's personality is marked by his scheming and oily nature, driven primarily by self-preservation and a desire to maintain his status within the brutal hierarchy of Raoh's regime. He is not a front-line fighter of notable power but rather a courtier who uses cunning and espionage to prove his worth. His key role in the story's plot is to uncover a vital piece of information. While the army strategist Rihaku meets with Yuria, who is believed to be dead, Giraku secretly observes them and hears everything. He witnesses Yuria alive and learns her secret identity as the Last General of the Nanto army, a revelation that shocks Raoh, who realizes he was deceived by Shin. He manages to escape the Nanto capital using a unique gliding ability, soaring off a balcony to return to his master with this crucial intelligence.
This act of discovery is Giraku's primary contribution to the narrative, effectively taking the place of a major subplot involving the character Juza, which was omitted from this film adaptation. Regarding his key relationships, Giraku is entirely dependent on Raoh, serving him out of fear and opportunistic ambition rather than loyalty. His development is minimal but culminates in a decisive end. As Raoh prepares for his final, fateful battle against Kenshiro, he contemplates his own potential death. Anticipating that he might not survive, Raoh chooses to eliminate his unworthy and evil subordinates to ensure they do not succeed him. Demonstrating his ruthless pragmatism, Raoh kills Giraku, ending his advisor's scheming for good.
