Description
Renge Miyauchi, the youngest daughter of the Miyauchi family, starts as a six to seven-year-old first-grade student at Asahigaoka Branch School. By *Non Non Biyori: Remember*, she is eight to nine years old in third grade. Born on December 3, she initially stands 117 cm tall, later reaching 134 cm. Her blood type is B. She has lavender hair tied in pigtails with yellow ribbons—gifted by candy store owner Kaede Kagayama during her infancy—and distinct reddish-brown, half-open eyes, a trait shared only with her sister Hikage among main characters.

Precocious and observant, Renge blends curiosity with creativity. She composes original songs on a recorder from her sister Kazuho and invents whimsical names, like calling Kaede "Dagashiya" (Candy Store). Academically, she excels in art—winning a children’s drawing contest—and independently masters multiplication after a suggestion from family friend Konomi Fujimiya. Despite a typically expressionless demeanor, she shows warmth toward friends and family. Her speech includes the dialect suffix "non" and the greeting "Nyanpasu," fusing "meow" and "good morning."

Her development spans multiple stories. *Non Non Biyori Repeat* centers on her interactions and subtle growth. In *Non Non Biyori Vacation*, she bonds with friends during an Okinawa trip. *Non Non Biyori Nonstop* sees her in second grade navigating classmates’ graduations, deepening her appreciation for fleeting moments. *Non Non Biyori: Remember* features her in third grade with a ponytail reminiscent of Kaede’s youth, aspiring to become a teacher like Kazuho. She mentors younger characters, pledging to guide incoming student Kasumi.

Relationships anchor her journey. She shares a profound bond with Kaede, who cared for her as a baby and inspired her artistry with crayons. Her friendship with Tokyo visitor Honoka Ishikawa yields heartfelt reunions and exchanged gifts like a cat brooch. She sees Natsumi Koshigaya as a playful companion (called "Ren-chon" by Natsumi) and admires Konomi as an older-sister figure. Initially nervous around Natsumi’s brother Suguru, she later thanks him sincerely at his graduation. She also comforts lost girl Shiori during a family emergency.

Personal elements include caring for a pet tanuki "Gu," summoned by specialized whistles and fed regularly, and previously owning a tadpole shrimp "Hirataira-san" (Flatty-san). Her family owns a mountain, and her parents’ agricultural work limits on-screen presence, though they wake her daily. She adores rabbits, curry, plum kelp tea, and candies but dislikes peppers. Her name, meaning "lotus flower," references the Chinese milkvetch fields near Asahigaoka.
