Liu Shenqiang is a supporting character in the animated film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM. He serves as a member of the Black Knight Squad, the elite mobile suit unit of the Kingdom of Foundation. Liu Shenqiang is an Accord, a new breed of genetically enhanced coordinators created to surpass both natural humans and conventional coordinators. This status forms the core of his personality and worldview. Like his fellow Black Knights, Liu Shenqiang is extremely egotistical and narcissistic. He holds a deep-seated belief that Accords are inherently superior to all other forms of humanity, and this conviction colors every interaction he has with outsiders. Despite often displaying outwardly polite and well-mannered behavior, he consistently looks down on others with a subtle but unmistakable air of contempt, as if silently mocking those he deems beneath him. This condescension reflects his core motivation: a firm allegiance to the Foundation's agenda of implementing a version of the Destiny Plan, which would place the Accords as the ruling class of humanity. He sees no flaw in this hierarchy because he genuinely believes in his own biological and intellectual superiority.

Within the story, Liu Shenqiang's role is that of an antagonist aligned with the Foundation's forces. He piloted a Rudro mobile suit during the conflict, his individual unit being designated as the Spinel. He participated in the Black Knight Squad's operations against the peace monitoring organization Compass, including the initial betrayal during the joint operation against Blue Cosmos. Alongside his squadmates, he contributed to the ambush that overwhelmed Kira Yamato and destroyed the battleship Archangel. Liu Shenqiang's key relationships are primarily with his fellow Black Knights and his superiors, Prime Minister Orphee Lam Tao and Queen Aura Maha Khyber. He functions as part of a cohesive unit that shares the same ideology of Accord supremacy, and there is no indication of significant personal bonds or conflicts with characters outside his faction. He does not develop beyond his initial characterization. He remains a steadfast and arrogant servant of the Foundation's cause throughout the film, showing no doubt, change, or personal growth. His story concludes during the final battle in space, when the Black Knight Squad engages the upgraded mobile suits of Compass. The Rudro suit piloted by Liu Shenqiang was unable to match the speed of the Destiny Gundam Spec II. As a direct consequence of this tactical shortcoming, his mobile suit was destroyed in combat, resulting in his death. In terms of notable abilities, Liu Shenqiang was a skilled mobile suit pilot capable of operating the advanced Rudro, and as an Accord, he possessed enhanced cognitive and physical capabilities. However, he did not display any unique or named abilities that set him apart from other members of the Black Knight Squad.
