OVA
Description
Alcia Grace is a young girl and the central protagonist of the Relic Armor Legaciam OVA. She resides with her grandfather, Professor Eruzebu Grace, on the planet Libertia, a world once known as a "planet of death" until humanity used three giant orbital mirrors to make its surface habitable. Her life on their rural farm is dedicated to assisting her grandfather with his research, specifically the testing and adjustment of a unique piece of technology called the Legaciam.
Alcia's personality is defined by her resilience and courage in the face of sudden and overwhelming danger. Her existence is turned upside down when their home is attacked by soldiers from the Guild, a powerful organization seeking to capture both her grandfather and the Legaciam armor. In this moment of crisis, she follows her grandfather's orders to escape, piloting the Legaciam and fleeing into the unknown. This traumatic event forces her into a role she never sought, becoming the sole protector of the armor and the key to rescuing her captured grandfather. Her primary motivations are therefore deeply personal: to evade Guild pursuit, safeguard the Legaciam, and save Professor Grace.
Her role in the story is that of an unlikely hero thrust into a conflict much larger than herself. As the only person small enough to fit and pilot the Legaciam, she is uniquely indispensable to both her grandfather's work and the Guild's ambitions. The armor itself is a red and white Relic Armor, noted for its exceptional heat resistance, which allows it to operate in environments deadly to humans. It is equipped with thrusters for high mobility and an energy blade mounted on its right wrist, which Alcia learns to use in combat against Guild forces. The Legaciam appears to be specifically calibrated for her, responding exclusively to her as its pilot.
Alcia's key relationships are forged through this ordeal. Her bond with her grandfather is the emotional core of her journey. She also receives support from allies including her friends Dorothy and Brick, who aid her after the initial attack, and a man named Zeno, with whom she joins forces. Her primary adversaries are Guild members, including Captain Darts, as well as Zeno and Blick, with whom she or her grandfather share complex, unresolved histories. Over the course of the narrative, Alcia develops from a peaceful farm girl assisting with experiments into a determined pilot fighting for her family's survival. She endures significant psychological strain during intense combat situations, showcasing a growing fortitude. Ultimately, she and her allies learn that the Legaciam was discovered near a mysterious, heat-shrouded desert tower that emits a destructive sound wave, and the group resolves to travel to this tower to uncover the truth and prevent a potential catastrophe on Libertia.
