Description
Kirche Augusta Frederica von Anhalt Zerbst is a noblewoman from the Empire of Germania and a student at the Tristain Academy of Magic. Her family, the House of Anhalt-Zerbst, has a long-standing and deep-seated rivalry with the La Vallière family, one of the most prominent noble houses in Tristain. This historical feud, combined with their contrasting personalities, forms the foundation of her competitive relationship with Louise de La Vallière.

At eighteen years of age, Kirche possesses a tall and striking stature, standing at 171 centimeters. She has a curvaceous figure, long, fiery red hair, and brownish-gold eyes, which complement her tanned or brown complexion. Her choice of attire is characteristically bold and revealing; she wears a modified version of the academy uniform consisting of a white blouse left unbuttoned to expose her cleavage, a black skirt, thigh-high gold boots, and a black cloak secured with the academy's insignia. She is almost always seen wearing makeup and dark red lipstick to accentuate her features, and she takes great pride in flaunting her good looks.

Kirche’s personality is vibrant, flirtatious, and attention-seeking. She is known for openly seducing men, frequently dating other students at the academy, and enjoying the admiration she receives. This behavior is a major source of her rivalry with Louise, whom she often teases about her small, childlike physique and her frequent, explosive failures at spellcasting. However, beneath this vain and boastful exterior lies a more caring and loyal individual. She forms a notably deep bond with her best friend, Tabitha, and becomes fiercely protective of her well-being. Over time, Kirche also shows a capacity to set aside her rivalry with Louise, evolving into a reluctant but reliable ally during dangerous situations.

Her motivations are driven by a desire for personal freedom and excitement. She fled her homeland to escape an arranged marriage to an elderly marquis, choosing instead to transfer to the Tristain Academy to continue her education. Within the story, Kirche initially serves as a primary rival and tormentor of Louise, but her role expands as she becomes an integral member of the main group. She actively participates in missions, such as aiding in the pursuit of the thief Fouquet and helping to rescue Louise from a golem attack.

Her key relationships are central to her development. Her rivalry with Louise is legendary, fueled by their families' history and their personal animosity, but it gradually transforms into grudging respect and cooperation. Her friendship with Tabitha is her most significant and consistent bond; she is often found in Tabitha's company and provides her with emotional support. In terms of romance, Kirche develops a strong interest in Saito Hiraga, Louise's familiar, after he proves his worth in a duel. She repeatedly attempts to seduce him, even offering him expensive gifts, though he consistently rejects her advances. Later in the series, her romantic focus shifts toward Jean Colbert, a professor at the academy.

Kirche is a highly skilled mage, classified as a Triangle-class fire mage, which places her among the more powerful magic users in the series. She has received military training in Germania, which contributes to her ability to chant spells faster than most when she is serious. Her magical abilities are a natural extension of her passionate and fiery personality. Her runic epithet is "Subtle Heat". She is capable of casting a variety of fire-based spells, including a standard Fireball that can be directed at targets and a spell known as Serpent Pyrokinesis, which allows her to control flames in the shape of a serpent to attack or repel opponents, sometimes without even needing to chant an incantation. Her familiar, which she summons, is a large fire salamander named Flame, who assists her in both combat and daily life.
