Description
Mukoda Tsuyoshi, who often goes by the name Mukohda in the other world, is a twenty-seven-year-old Japanese office worker who is accidentally summoned during a hero summoning ritual in the kingdom of Reijseger. He has a mild-mannered and cautious temperament, often described as cowardly, and he dislikes direct combat. Unlike the other summoned heroes, he did not receive any combat-oriented stat boosts and remained as physically unremarkable as an ordinary human. His primary motivation is survival and carving out a peaceful life in a dangerous world, and he quickly negotiates his release from the kingdom when he senses the royal family’s ulterior motives. Mukohda begins his journey as a traveling merchant and later registers as an adventurer, though he remains reluctant to engage in battle. His most notable ability is the unique skill called Online Supermarket, which lets him purchase and instantly summon goods from modern Japan through a three-dimensional catalog. He applies his experience as a former part-time cook to transform these ingredients into elaborate dishes, and his food provides temporary stat-boosting effects to anyone who eats it. This culinary talent becomes his greatest asset, allowing him to form contracts with legendary monsters. His first familiar is Fel, a Fenrir and a descendant of the wind goddess Ninlir, who is drawn to Mukohda by the aroma of grilled meat and forces a contract in exchange for regular meals. Fel serves as his primary protector and mount, and despite the wolf’s intimidating power, Mukohda occasionally scolds him for his gluttonous and battle-hungry behavior. His second familiar is Sui, a newborn slime that he adopts after feeding it scraps; Sui evolves rapidly into a special-evolution slime capable of telepathy, acid attacks, and medicine production, and it sees Mukohda as a parent figure. Later, a third familiar joins the group, a small but extremely fast Pixie Dragon nicknamed Dora-chan, who is enticed by fried foods. Mukohda also maintains a transactional relationship with several goddesses, including the wind goddess Ninlir, the fire goddess Agni, the earth goddess Kishar, and the water goddess Rusalka, who grant him blessings and protections in exchange for offerings of modern Japanese sweets, alcohol, and other goods. Over the course of his travels, Mukohda grows from a timid salaryman into a more confident and resourceful individual, learning to use his wealth and culinary influence to navigate politics and dangers. He remains non-confrontational but becomes a capable beast tamer and cook, relying on his familiars for combat while he focuses on provisioning and strategy. His role in the story is that of an ordinary person who survives and thrives through unconventional means, building a found family of legendary creatures through the universal appeal of good food.
