Description
Glenda Attley, also known as Glenda of the Rough Seas or Raging Sea Glenda, is a character who begins her journey in the world as an antagonist before eventually aligning with the nation of Tempest. She is a striking red-haired woman and an Otherworlder, meaning she was originally from another world and summoned to this one. Her background as a former mercenary from her original world, where she was skilled with pistols and knives, directly influences her pragmatic and survivalist outlook. Upon being summoned, she came under the employ of Granbell Rosso and was forced to serve his family due to a powerful curse that bound her soul, compelling her to achieve results on pain of death. During this period, she held prestigious positions, including being a member of the Holy Emperor's Imperial Guard known as the Rook Geniuses and one of the Ten Great Saints.

Glenda's personality is defined by a strong and singular obsession with money. Her true nature is that of a woman who is constantly seeking to line her pockets, and she will readily lie or take on any job, whether clean or dirty, if there is a profit to be made. To the public eye, she maintained a convincing cover as a faithful and devout follower of the Luminism religion, but this was entirely a facade for her mercenary work as a spy for the Council of Elders, where she was paid to spread false information about eastern merchants. Despite her rough language and wild, beautiful appearance, her actions are primarily driven by a powerful lust for life and a desire for security, as her cursed situation meant that any failure would result in her demise.

Glenda's role in the story is that of a recurring adversary who later becomes a subordinate ally. She is first introduced as an antagonist working for the kingdom of Farmus. In Volume 7 of the light novel, she confronts Diablo alongside an ally named Saare, but when the battle turns against them, she abandons Saare to Diablo and flees to save herself. Her next major role is in Volume 10, where she attempts to assassinate Prince Elric during a council meeting in the Kingdom of Ingracia. This act is thwarted by Souei, one of Rimuru's most trusted shadow operatives, who captures her. Following her capture, Rimuru Tempest breaks the Rosso family's curse that had been binding her soul. In gratitude and under new circumstances, she swears loyalty to Rimuru and becomes a subordinate of Souei, joining his shadow squad, the Kurayami.

Glenda's key relationships fundamentally change over the course of her character development. Initially, her primary relationships are as a pawn of the Rosso family, particularly Mariabell Rosso, who held the curse over her. Her most significant turning point is her defeat and subsequent relationship with Souei, who becomes her direct superior in the Kurayami, where she serves under Souka's leadership. Her loyalty to Rimuru Tempest, who freed her from her bondage, becomes a defining feature of her later role, and she is revealed to have taken on the role of the boss of a group known as the Three Wise Drunks, becoming a feared figure in the Western criminal underworld. Her motivations also evolve from mere survival and monetary gain to include a strong interest in Tempest's unique merit point system, which she uses as fresh motivation, with her goal becoming to earn enough points to purchase all the special dishes from the land of monsters.

In terms of notable abilities, Glenda is a highly agile and skilled combatant whose talents lie in assassination and long-range combat. Her most distinctive power is her Unique Skill, named Sniper. This skill grants her several potent sub-skills that make her a formidable marksman. Magic Sense allows her to perceive her surroundings through magical energy, creating a mental image of the area. Predictive Calculation lets her foresee the outcomes of specific actions. Spatial Manipulation allows her to manipulate space itself; she uses this to carry out assassinations from great distances by creating spatial connections to her target. She combines these abilities into a powerful technique known as Warp Shot, which is described as a leaping magic bullet. Her proficiency with guns and projectile weapons is unparalleled, allowing her to handle all types of firearms with ease.
