Description
Louis Valentine is a vampire and a direct subordinate of the demon lord Luminous Valentine, serving as one of her Three Lords and her proxy in ruling the Holy Empire of Ruberios. He holds the title of Holy Emperor of Lubelius and acts as the public face of Luminous divinity, managing the empire's population and the Western Holy Church on her behalf while she remains in hiding.
Louis was originally part of a single, immensely powerful and bloodthirsty vampire known as Valentin, who was one of the many creations of Twilight Valentine, the progenitor of various races in the Central World. Luminous Valentine split this being into two separate entities, creating Louis and his younger twin brother Roy. Louis became the elder twin, taking on the role of the pious Holy Emperor, while Roy played the part of the evil demon lord, a deception designed to unite the populace of Ruberios under a common enemy and consolidate Luminous control.
As a character, Louis is intelligent and composed, capable of administrating a vast religious empire and maintaining the intricate political facade that conceals his master true nature. He is loyal to Luminous and works to further her interests, demonstrating a calm and dutiful demeanor suited to his position. He also serves as a key liaison between the Holy Church and the demon lord, keeping Luminous informed of significant developments.
In the story, Louis role is primarily that of a political operator and administrator. He is the one who oversees the day-to-day operations of the Holy Empire and interacts with figures such as Hinata Sakaguchi, the captain of the Holy Knights. Upon learning of his brother Roy death, the return of the storm dragon Veldora, the fall of the kingdom of Falmuth, and the evolution of Rimuru Tempest into a true demon lord, Louis promptly informs Hinata and together they report these events to Luminous, prompting a strategic reassessment. He is also present when his master heals himself, his brother, and Hinata after their confrontation.
His key relationship is with Luminous Valentine, whom he serves with absolute loyalty. His bond with his twin brother Roy is also central, as they were originally a single being and share a deep, if complicated, connection. After Roy death, Louis continues his duties alone. He also maintains a working relationship with Hinata Sakaguchi, cooperating with her to manage the affairs of the church.
Louis development is closely tied to the revelation of his true nature and the loss of his brother. While initially appearing as a mere human religious leader, his identity as a vampire and his connection to Luminous are eventually uncovered. His character arc involves coping with Roy death and continuing to support Luminous through the changing political landscape of the world.
Regarding abilities, as a vampire and the split half of the powerful being Valentin, Louis possesses considerable physical and magical prowess, likely mirroring the abilities of his brother Roy. He has enhanced physical characteristics, magical aptitude, and likely a form of immortality or extended lifespan common to vampires. He is also a skilled administrator and manipulator, capable of running a vast religious empire without revealing its true leadership.
