Description
Dracula is one of the three steadfast companions and loyal attendants who travel from Monster Land to Tokyo with the series' protagonist, the young prince Kaibutsu-kun. As a native of Monster Land, his background is that of a monster who chooses to serve the royal family, acting as a key member of the prince's entourage in both the monster and human worlds.

In terms of personality, Dracula is characterized as the intellectual core of the group, possessing a sharp intellect and deep knowledge about the monster tribe as well as their adversaries, the demon clan. He takes significant pride in himself and maintains a conspicuous obsession with cleanliness. Despite the typically fearsome nature of a vampire, Dracula has notable quirks that subvert traditional expectations. For instance, he completely abstains from drinking human blood, preferring tomato juice as a substitute. His speech pattern is also distinctive, as he commonly appends the word "damasu" to the end of his sentences. A recurring and notable weakness is his vulnerability to beautiful women, which can become a tactical disadvantage when facing enemies who exploit this trait.

His motivations are primarily tied to his role as a retainer to the prince. He follows Kaibutsu-kun to serve, protect, and assist him in his endeavors, which often involve dealing with monsters causing trouble in the human world or confronting the antagonistic demon group known as Demonish. In some adaptations, he is specifically described as Kaibutsu-kun's trainer. His role in the story is consistently that of a supportive figure and a loyal subject, using his intelligence to help the group navigate various conflicts. Key relationships include his bond with his master, Kaibutsu-kun, and his fellow companions, Wolfman and Franken. The trio works together as a unit, with Dracula often providing the strategic or informational support for the team.

Regarding development, the character remains largely static across the various iterations of the franchise, including the original manga and subsequent anime adaptations. He adheres rigidly to his established traits, with no substantive evolution or addition to his backstory documented. He consistently acts as a reliable intellectual anchor for the prince, maintaining his pride, his love of tomato juice, and his unique speech pattern throughout the narrative.

As a vampire, Dracula possesses several notable abilities. He is active primarily at night and is vulnerable to sunlight, which restricts his movements. To navigate, he uses a magic cape that allows him to fly. While he conforms to the traditional vampire weakness to light, his substitution of tomato juice for blood reinforces that he is not a traditional predatory monster but rather a civilized being from Monster Land with his own distinct code of conduct.
