Description
Mina Ichinose is a supporting character in The Dreaming Boy Is a Realist. She is a first-year student at Kouketsu Private High School and shares the same classroom as the male protagonist, Wataru Sajou. Physically, Mina is small in stature with short, dark-blue hair and emerald-green eyes. Her appearance matches her reserved nature.

Mina has a quiet, gentle, and soft-spoken personality. She is deeply introverted and tends to shy away from attention, often described as a literature-loving girl. Her love for reading draws her to the local used bookstore, where she works part-time alongside Wataru. The bookstore owner holds her in high regard, and she frequently visits the shop even outside of work hours. Her introversion makes social situations challenging, and she initially keeps to herself.

Mina’s motivations are shaped by her gradual personal growth. At the start of the story, she is wary of Wataru, who previously had a reputation for obsessively pursuing his crush, Aika Natsukawa. However, as Wataru begins to change and distance himself from his old behavior, Mina slowly opens up to him. She begins to trust and rely on him, eventually developing romantic feelings. Her journey is one of stepping out from behind her older brother’s shadow, becoming more confident, and forming new friendships.

In the story, Mina serves as a classmate and a former part-time coworker of Wataru. Her presence highlights the quieter, more grounded side of Wataru’s social circle. While she is not a central driver of the main romantic conflict, her subtle affection for Wataru adds complexity to the web of relationships. Her development revolves around overcoming her timidity and finding her own voice, making her a symbol of quiet growth within the series. Mina does not possess any extraordinary abilities; her notable traits are her literary knowledge and her resilient, if understated, emotional growth.
