Description
God Neptune is the combined form of the five Space Pirate Seacons, a group that arrived on the planet Gaia to plunder its valuable Angolmois Energy. Standing as their ultimate ace-in-the-hole, this towering powerhouse is formed when the crew faces opposition too great for them to handle individually. The fusion is commanded by Halfshell, the leader of the Seacons, who serves as the torso and dominant personality. While this allows God Neptune to possess a level of intelligence not typically seen in such combiners, the arrangement is far from flawless.

The character known as Halfshell is a shrewd and calculating captain whose primary motivation is the acquisition of wealth. He evaluates every situation based on potential profit or loss. However, contrary to the cold pragmatism this might suggest, Halfshell deeply values friendship and is remarkably generous toward his comrades, whether they are fellow Predacons or Maximals. He is particularly devoted to his own Seacon crew, often moved to tears if he feels he has failed them, a sentiment the pirates genuinely reciprocate. Should any harm come to his team, he would stop at nothing to make things right. This loyal and emotional core defines his leadership, making him a pirate driven as much by personal bonds as by greed.

In his role in the story, Halfshell leads the Seacons in their initial mission to harvest Angolmois Energy from Gaia, either to sell or to repair their damaged ship, the photon sailer. This brings him into direct conflict with Lio Convoy and the Maximals. When his crew combines to form God Neptune, the resulting giant is a force to be reckoned with, brandishing a gigantic Neptune Sword to smash all who defy him. God Neptune proves to be a match for powerful opponents, including the combined form of the Maximals known as Magnaboss and even the mighty Galvatron, and is described as being especially invincible in an ocean environment. Key battles include fighting Lio Convoy in a one-on-one duel that was not quite fair, engaging the Jointrons' combiner Tripledacus, and later, after being brainwashed by the evil influence of the artificial planet Nemesis, serving as its first line of defense against the Maximals.

The development of God Neptune is heavily defined by his team's dysfunction. The most notable recurring complication is the flighty fembot Scylla, who frequently becomes distracted, often by her infatuation with the Maximal Scuba, and abandons her position as a leg component. This leaves God Neptune hopping on one leg and vulnerable to enemy attacks. These internal arguments and the unreliable nature of the combination are consistent weaknesses. Later in the series, the Seacons fall under Galvatron's control, becoming his slaves, but they eventually regain their senses and assist the Maximals, with Halfshell even hoping to settle his duel with Lio Convoy another day.

The Seacons who combine to form God Neptune are Halfshell, Coelagon, Scylla, Sea Phantom, and Terrormander. As the fusion, God Neptune's abilities are formidable: he boasts maximum ratings in strength, intelligence, endurance, firepower, and rank. His weapon of choice is the Neptune Sword, a massive blade he wields with deadly skill. However, his primary weakness remains the unreliable cooperation of his individual components, whose arguments and independent streaks can compromise the combination at critical moments.
