Description
Queen Apollon is the queen of the planet Apolon and the mother of Takeshi, the protagonist of UFO Senshi Daiapolon. She is married to King Apolon, placing her within the royal family whose downfall sets the story in motion. When the Dazaan forces invaded the planet Apolon in search of the immense cosmic power known as the Energy Heart, the kingdom was destroyed. In the chaos, the infant prince was carried to Earth by the retainer Rabi, while Queen Apollon herself was taken prisoner and held on the Dazaan homeworld.
Beyond her royal title, Queen Apollon was one of the co-developers of the Energy Heart, the great energy source connected to the series' central technology. This scientific background distinguishes her from the other royal figures and ties her directly to the power at the center of the conflict, since the Key Energy implanted in her son's body is part of the same system. Because of her role in the creation of that technology, she stands both as a symbol of her lost kingdom and as a figure of practical knowledge connected to the energy that ultimately decides the war.
Queen Apollon does not appear until the later part of the series. For most of the story, Takeshi does not know whether she is alive. When he learns that she is being held captive on the Dazaan world, rescuing her becomes a central goal, and the journey to free her deepens his confrontation with the Dazaan leadership. Her liberation is achieved only through sacrifice, and once she is freed, Takeshi is able to activate the full power of the Energy Heart through his own Key Energy. He uses that power to purify the Dazaan homeworld and bring the conflict to an end.
