TV-Series
Description
Georiya serves as the second-in-command to King Leon of the planet Baam, also known as Valerian. In this role, he is present during the pivotal peace negotiations held on Earth's moon, where the Baam survivors sought to secure land for emigration after their home world was destroyed. Instead of facilitating peace, Georiya commits the central act of treachery that ignites the series' conflict: he assassinates King Leon. Following the murder, Georiya successfully frames the Earth delegation for the crime, ensuring that the blame for the king's death falls upon humanity.

Georiya operates as a treacherous and ambitious subordinate, ultimately carrying out his villainous deeds on behalf of a higher power. His assassination of King Leon is not a solo bid for power but is done under orders from Olban, who seeks to claim the Baam throne for himself. This positions Georiya as a key instrument in Olban's scheme to seize control of the Baam people and manipulate them into a war against Earth. He is categorized alongside Olban as a character who embodies the archetype of a straightforward villain, in contrast to other members of the Baam Empire who are more sympathetically portrayed as desperate survivors seeking a new home.

Georiya's actions have profound and lasting consequences on the story's central conflict. By assassinating Leon and framing Earth, he directly causes Admiral Richter, the late king's son, to swear vengeance against humanity. This manipulation is the primary catalyst for the brutal war of terror that Richter wages against Earth, deploying a variety of mecha soldiers. The truth of Georiya's betrayal remains hidden for much of the series. When this truth is finally revealed, it has a devastating effect on Richter, who realizes that his entire genocidal war was fought based on a lie and that he was avenging his father against the wrong enemy. This revelation leads to Richter's suicide, driven by overwhelming guilt for the millions of innocent human lives lost in his misguided crusade.

Within the narrative, Georiya serves as a major antagonist whose function is to instigate and perpetuate the war between Earth and the Baam Empire through deception and treason. His loyalty is not to his people but to the usurper Olban, making him a key figure in the empire's corrupt leadership. A peculiar and memorable moment associated with the character occurs in episode 39, where he is shown practicing with a bow and arrow and shoots an arrow directly into the heart of two Star of David symbols. The anime provides no explanation for this act, leaving his specific animosity towards Jewish symbols as an unexplained and isolated incident. This moment has been noted as a strange, non-sequitur event within the series.
