Description
Mamezo is a central character in the anime Microid S, a member of the trio of miniature heroes known as the Microids. He is referred to as the Beetle Boy, his design and insect motif corresponding to a beetle. Mamezo is the youngest of the three main characters, a former slave of the underground insect empire led by the villain Gidoron. Along with his comrades Yanma and Ageha, he escapes captivity and travels to Japan to warn humanity of the impending invasion by the insect army.
In terms of personality, Mamezo is portrayed as youthful and earnest, often displaying a spirited determination despite his small size. His motivations are driven by a desire to protect humans from the threat of Gidoron and to fight against the enslavement of his kind. He plays a key role in the trio, supporting the team with his bravery and insect-themed abilities. Like the other Microids, Mamezo wears a winged super-suit that allows him to fly, and his beetle motif likely grants him traits such as enhanced resilience or strength, though the series primarily emphasizes flight and teamwork in battle.
Mamezo’s key relationships include his close bonds with Yanma, the leader of the Microids, and Ageha, the female member. Together, they form a tight-knit unit. They eventually gain the trust of Dr. Midoro, a Nobel Prize-winning scientist, and his son Manabu, who become their human allies. Mamezo’s development throughout the series involves growing from a frightened escapee into a courageous fighter, though specific details of his personal arc are not extensively documented. His notable abilities are tied to his beetle-inspired design and his use of the super-suit to fly, enabling him to engage in aerial combat against Gidoron’s monster insects.
