Description
Asari is a character from the 1965 anime series Space Ace. She is the daughter of Dr. Tatsunoko, a scientist who operates the Tatsunoko Research Center. Her role in the story begins at the very start of the series when she accompanies her father on an undersea expedition to investigate a mysterious source of radiation. During this mission, it is Asari who discovers a small, compact-like object hidden inside a giant shell. This object contains a message revealing the existence of a boy from the doomed Planet Parlum, who is later named Ace.

Asari is depicted as a young girl with a gentle and supportive personality. She acts as a close companion and emotional anchor for Ace, who is an alien with extraordinary powers. Her relationship with Ace is central to the series, where she is characterized as his love interest and one of his most trusted friends. Throughout the 52-episode run, she is consistently part of the core group that supports Ace in his mission to defend Earth from various threats, including mystic robots and brutal space invaders. Her father, Dr. Tatsunoko, serves as a father figure to Ace, and Asari completes this makeshift family unit, providing a sense of warmth and home for the displaced alien boy.

As a character, Asari does not possess superhuman abilities or advanced combat skills. Her primary contribution to the story is through her discovery of Ace and her unwavering support for him. She is part of the series' ensemble cast, which includes other allies like Ibo the robot dog and the Hermit Crab Reporter, a comedic character who provides comic relief. Asari is identifiable by her visual design, which includes gray or brown hair styled with a side ponytail and often accessorized with a beret or a hairbow. Her development throughout the series is closely tied to her loyalty to Ace and her role as the supportive daughter of the lead scientist, always present to aid in the group's adventures against the alien forces threatening Earth.
