TV-Series
Description
Fee Anderson is the central protagonist and the middle child of the Anderson family, residing in Los Angeles, California. At fifteen years old, she is characterized as a classic tomboy, a trait she has exhibited since early childhood. Fee serves as the primary straight man within her often eccentric and dysfunctional family, frequently attempting to keep her relatives in check despite her own tendencies toward rashness and impulsive behavior.

In terms of personality, Fee comes across as abrasive, outspoken, and initially suspicious of outsiders. When a young boy named Jonathan arrives claiming to be the illegitimate son of her father, Wilfred, Fee is the only member of the family to react with hostility and an immediate desire to reject him. Her motives are rooted in a desire to reject what she perceives as her father’s sin. However, her personality is marked by frequent changes of heart. After discovering that Jonathan is not actually related to her family, and later realizing that his defensive behavior stems from a place of respect and fondness for her, she warms up to him. This pattern of initial resistance followed by acceptance defines her role in the story, as her beliefs frequently come into conflict with the progressive world around her before she learns to adapt.

Despite her tough exterior, Fee demonstrates a deep capacity for care, even if it is often misinterpreted as being annoyingly nosy. She is known to be a poor student, frequently receiving failing grades in Spanish, which contrasts with her strong moral compass and emotional instincts. Her role in the narrative often involves navigating typical adolescent challenges, including dating, personal biases, and familial loyalty.

Regarding her key relationships, Fee shares a complex bond with her elder brother, Kay. Her character development is highlighted when she catches her brother with a male romantic interest; she initially reacts with disapproval, attempting to break them up in accordance with her church-going family's values. However, after her brother helps her catch a purse snatcher, she has another change of heart and accepts his relationship. Her primary romantic interest is Ralph, a boy who originally dated her brother Kay. After spending time with Fee, Ralph finds himself developing feelings for her, eventually breaking up with Kay to pursue Fee, though he struggles to express his feelings to the insensitive and clueless Fee.

The character undergoes significant development throughout the series. While she starts as a rigid, judgmental, and hostile figure toward anything that disrupts her view of normalcy, the resolution of each conflict sees her evolving. She learns to accept Jonathan into the family, accept her brother's sexuality, and eventually navigate her own feelings regarding romance. Notably, as she begins dating Ralph, she gradually starts to show a more feminine side, indicating a softening of her rigid tomboy persona. While Fee has no superhuman abilities, her notable traits include her strong will, her resilience in confronting uncomfortable truths, and her talent for exposing lies and secrets within her family unit.
