TV-Series
Description
Motorman is an evil-aligned superhuman, or choujin, from France on Earth who appears in the anime adaptation of the Kinnikuman series. He has a very simple and distinctive mechanical design: his head is shaped like a spinning drill, his hands and feet are styled after batteries, and his torso resembles a motor or engine. He stands 190 centimeters tall and weighs 210 kilograms, and his superhuman strength rating is 4,600,000 power. He is 23 years old at the time of his appearance.
As a member of the Technique team led by Kinnikuman Zebra, Motorman serves as the secondary vanguard, meaning he is the second fighter to be sent out in the team battle format of the Royal Survivor Tournament. Within the team, he fills a specific supporting role as the power source and charger for Bikeman, a robot-type choujin built by the team's commander. His inclusion in the team is primarily for this purpose rather than for his fighting ability, and he is not regarded as a major combat threat by his own side.
Motorman's personality is not explored in great depth, but he exudes the cocky and aggressive demeanor typical of a mid-rank enforcer. He has a distinctive high-pitched laugh and appears to take pleasure in overwhelming his opponents with speed and force during the early stages of a match.
In the story, Motorman is assigned to fight against Terryman on the grounds of Himeji Castle. He initially dominates the bout, using his electrical abilities and the rotating drill on his head to keep Terryman on the defensive. He demonstrates a technique called Drill a Hole Spark, where he spins the drill at high speed to deliver a piercing attack, as well as Battery Claw, which channels electricity through his battery-like hands. However, as the fight progresses, Ramenman intervenes to assist Terryman. Motorman is caught in Ramenman's signature Camel Clutch hold, which proves fatal; he is ripped in half and killed, ending his participation in the tournament.
Despite his brief role, Motorman is notable for being the first electric-using choujin introduced in the Kinnikuman series. He does not undergo any significant character development across the story, as he appears solely as an obstacle in the technique team bracket and is eliminated in his only match. His key relationships are mostly functional: he serves under Zebra and provides electrical power to Bikeman, while his direct opponent is Terryman, and his ultimate defeat comes at the hands of Ramenman. After his death, the narrative moves on without further reference to him, cementing his place as a minor but memorable member of Zebra's forces.
