Description
Kinnikuman Big Body, originally known as Strongman, is a character who appears in the final story arc of the original Kinnikuman manga and anime. He is one of the Five Fated Princes, a group of five powerful superhumans, or Chojin, who each claim to be the true heir to the throne of Planet Kinniku. He was born in a hospital on Planet Kinniku on the same day as the series protagonist, Suguru Kinniku, and the four other princes. A fire in the hospital led to the six infants being mixed up, casting doubt on who the legitimate heir was. Fearing the potential power of the true prince, five evil gods each selected one of the other children to become their champion, granting them immense power. Big Body, who was living in Canada, was chosen by the God of Brute Strength to be his contestant for the throne.

In terms of personality, Big Body is presented as a humble and helpful individual. He does not hesitate to use his great strength to assist others and is shown to be caring, especially towards his own team members. Unlike some of the other princes, he confesses that he never truly cared about claiming the Kinniku throne in the first place and was only participating because the God of Strength ordered him to do so. During his matches, he can be somewhat indecisive. He considers himself not very smart or strategic, though he is shown to be quite perceptive at times. He holds no grudges, as demonstrated when he willingly teams up with the prince who defeated him without any apparent ill will.

Big Body's role in the story is primarily as an opponent in the Survivor Match for the Kinniku Throne. As the leader of Team Big Body, he carefully selected his teammates based on their raw strength and powerful appearance. In the first round of the tournament, his team was pitted against Team Super Phoenix. He watched as most of his team was defeated by the powerful Mammothman. When it was his turn to fight, his opponent was not Mammothman but Kinnikuman Super Phoenix himself. Big Body was quickly and brutally defeated by Super Phoenix's finishing move, the Muscle Revenger, which knocked him unconscious and eliminated his team from the tournament. This early loss led to him being viewed as the weakest of the five princes.

Years later in the manga, Big Body returns to fight Gear Master, a member of the Omega Centauri's Six Spears. In this later appearance, he puts up a much stronger and more determined fight, showing significant development. He secures a hard-earned victory, demonstrating his growth as a warrior. After the match, when a chandelier falls on Gear Master, Big Body attempts to save him and consoles his defeated enemy as he dies, further showcasing his caring and honorable nature.

His key relationships include his bond with his own team. He shows genuine concern when his teammates are defeated, feeling ashamed for failing them as their captain. This respect is mutual, as his teammates remain loyal to him even after learning he is not the true heir to the throne. His relationship with Kinnikuman Super Phoenix is also notable. Despite being defeated and humiliated by him in a very short fight, Big Body does not feel bitter and has no problems teaming up with him later on.

Big Body is notable for his immense physical strength, being the largest and physically strongest of the Five Fated Princes. He stands 245 cm tall and weighs 215 kg. His trademark techniques rely heavily on his raw power. His signature move is the Maple Leaf Clutch, a powerful submission and slam maneuver. Another of his finishing techniques is the Muscle Impact, a combination of poses, strikes, and a powerful powerbomb. He also employs other strength-based moves such as a Giant Swing and a Big Body Tackle. In his later fight against Gear Master, he uses a technique called the Super Strength Jet Tornado, where he spins rapidly to create a tornado and gather sand into a ball to use as a weapon.
