Description
Kōryū is a female-type super-artificial intelligence robot that serves as a member of Chasseur, the French-based anti-criminal organization affiliated with the Gutsy Geoid Guard. Designated model number G.B.R.-08, her name translates to Light Dragon. She is modeled after the earlier GGG robots Hyōryū and Enryū but built with a feminine form. Her vehicle mode is a MASER truck, a configuration that emphasizes mobility and direct firepower. Kōryū’s artificial intelligence exhibits a cheerful, bubbly, and somewhat childlike personality, described by Hyōryū as tomboyish. She regards Renais Cardiff Shishioh as an older sister figure and looks up to Hyōryū as a brother. Her counterpart and younger sister unit is AnRyū, the Dark Dragon.

In the story of Brave King GaoGaiGar Final, Kōryū is first deployed alongside Renais to recover stolen Q‑Parts from the criminal syndicate BioNet. She participates in the early battles in Paris, supporting Renais and later Guy Shishioh in his GaoFighGar. After the true threat of the Eleven Planetary Masters of Sol emerges, Kōryū and AnRyū accompany the GGG forces on their expedition to the Tri‑Solar System. They are among the robot units that engage the Planetary Masters’ forces on the replica Earth created by the Pas‑Q Machine. Kōryū’s key combat ability is her shoulder‑mounted MASER cannon, which she calls Primrose Moon. She also possesses an internal Projectile‑X weapon that can overload a target with G‑Stone energy, functioning as a more powerful chest attack. Her primary tactical role is ranged combat and area denial.

Kōryū’s most notable ability is the Symmetrical Docking with AnRyū to form the combined robot TenRyūjin. In this form, the two dragons merge into a single, larger humanoid warrior with increased strength and access to combination attacks. TenRyūjin appears later in the OVA to directly confront the Planetary Masters’ forces. Kōryū does not undergo a dramatic character arc; instead, her development is shown through her growing loyalty to her human partners and her willingness to fight alongside the GGG even in the face of overwhelming odds. She remains a steadfast support unit throughout the conflict, embodying the Brave series’ themes of courage and cooperation. Her relationship with AnRyū is that of a close sibling pair, and the two are almost always seen working together. Following the resolution of the conflict, Kōryū presumably continues her duties with Chasseur, though her exact fate is not detailed within the OVA.
