Description
Kurama Wataribe is a resident of the magical realm of Soukaizan who was transformed into a birdman along with his fellow villagers by the evil magic of Doakudar. Under this curse, he was compelled to spy on Wataru Ikusabe and his friends. Initially, he presents himself as a wandering swordsman and deceives the group several times, but he gradually undergoes a change of heart. After breaking free from Doakudar's influence, Kurama abandons his spying mission and becomes one of Wataru's most trusted companions.

In personality, he initially comes across as more serious and reserved compared to his companions, but over time he relaxes and shows a wry sense of humor. He is highly intelligent and often acts as a tactician for the party, using his cunning and combat skills to outwit enemies. Kurama is a highly capable swordsman and fighter, able to hold his own against multiple opponents with his blade. He pilots his own Mashin, a mechanical warrior, and his tactical acumen proves invaluable in battle. His motivations shift from self-preservation under duress to a genuine desire to help liberate Soukaizan from Doakudar's tyranny. He develops strong bonds of friendship with Wataru, Himiko, and Shibaraku. In later sequels, his loyalty continues to be a defining trait, and he takes on a mentorship role, guiding younger heroes like Umihiko with his experience and strategic mind. His enduring dedication and sharp intellect make him a vital member of the group across multiple adventures.
