Description
Leozack is the commander of the elite Decepticon Breastforce and serves as the second-in-command to the Emperor of Destruction, Deathsaurus. In name he is Deathsaurus's most trusted warrior, but in reality he secretly harbors ambitions to seize leadership of the Decepticons for himself. Leozack despises being anything less than the top ranking soldier and constantly schemes to acquire the resources and power needed to fuel his dreams of conquest. Unlike many previous Decepticons with similar goals, Leozack is intelligent enough to keep his ambitions hidden from his emperor, preferring to work in the shadows. However, Deathsaurus is fully aware of Leozack's treacherous nature and regards him as an overzealous youth with ideas above his station. Deathsaurus conceals his knowledge but never misses an opportunity to openly display his contempt, which drives Leozack to take irrational risks in a desperate attempt to prove his worth as a capable warrior.
Leozack is a skilled strategist and manipulator, often orchestrating complex plans to gather energy or weaken the Autobots. He is just as ruthless and brutal in battle as his leader, wielding an Electromagnetic Nunchaku and relying on his unique Breastforce ability. His chestplate can detach and transform into either a lion-like attack partner called Lionbreast or a handheld weapon known as the Leo Cannon. Leozack transforms into a Grumman F-14 Tomcat jet, and he combines with his five fellow Breastforce warriors—Drillhorn, Jallguar, Killbison, Guyhawk, and Hellbat—to form the mighty combiner Liokaiser. In this combined form, Leozack serves as the upper torso and head, and his dominant personality largely controls Liokaiser's actions.
Liokaiser is a powerful, cruel, and merciless super robot that is unusually intelligent for a combiner, capable of strategic thought rather than acting on pure instinct. He possesses the ability to turn invisible, making him a formidable opponent even for the Autobot leader Star Saber. Liokaiser's performance can suffer if the individual minds of the Breastforce become distracted, but when unified he is a near-unstoppable force that can challenge multiple Autobot combiners such as Road Caesar and Landcross.
Leozack's key relationships are defined by both loyalty and betrayal. He outwardly serves Deathsaurus but constantly plots to overthrow him, and Deathsaurus's dismissive attitude only fuels Leozack's resentment. Within the Breastforce, Leozack is the leader and maintains command over the other members, though he has particular friction with Hellbat, who is untrustworthy and once attempted to go over Leozack's head. Leozack's most loyal teammate was Deathcobra, whom he summoned to complete the Breastforce and finally expel Hellbat. However, Hellbat killed Deathcobra and blamed the Autobots, forcing Leozack to continue working with Hellbat as the sixth member of the team.
Throughout the story, Leozack experiences a gradual development from an overconfident but often defeated field commander to the orchestrator of a full team capable of combining into Liokaiser. Early in the series, his solitary attacks on Star Saber end in failure, and his reckless disobedience of Deathsaurus's orders leads to embarrassing defeats. As he assembles the complete Breastforce and gains access to Liokaiser, he becomes a much greater threat, pushing Star Saber and the Autobots to their limits. Despite his ambitions, he never successfully overthrows Deathsaurus, and his schemes repeatedly backfire, but his persistence and growing power mark him as a significant antagonist in the conflict over Earth's energy resources.
