TV-Series
Description
Banshou, known as Banjo in some versions, is a character from Medabots Spirit. He is a male child with brown eyes and blue hair cut to about ear length. Banshou is a self-proclaimed arcade king of his city and a devoted fan of video games. His skills, however, extend far beyond the screen, as he is also a rogue Medafighter who operates outside the official rules of Robattles.
His personality is defined by a fierce competitive spirit and a singular desire for challenge. Banshou plays to win at everything he attempts, and he possesses a strong, rebellious nature. Unlike many other rogue fighters, his motivations are pure in their intensity; he does not seek help, free Kilobots, or parts. Instead, he joins the rogue group led by Kam for the simple reason that Robattles provide a stimulating and difficult challenge.
In the story, Banshou is established as the most powerful of Kams rogue Medafighters. His talent is so significant that Kam personally entrusts him with Redrun, a powerful devil-type Kilobot. Banshou first appears as an antagonist executing Kams plan to ruin the reputation of the protagonist, Ikki. He does this by recording a brutal fight where his Redrun defeats Ikkis Medabot, Metabee, and then editing the footage to make Metabee look like the aggressor. He continues to be a formidable obstacle, defeating other powerful Medabots such as Ginkais Arc-Dash and assisting in schemes like unmasking the Mystery Medafighter.
Despite his role as an adversary, Banshou undergoes notable development. His competitive nature, initially expressed through cheating and underhanded tactics, eventually evolves. He comes to realize that fighting with official rules and in a fair manner is actually more challenging and rewarding than fighting without them. This leads to a pivotal Robattle against Ikki, where he chooses to compete honorably. Although his Redrun is ultimately defeated in this fair fight, the loss is a respectful one, and Miss Nae offers to repair Redrun for him, signifying his shift from a pure villain to a more neutral, rival character.
In terms of abilities, Banshous primary skill is his exceptional talent as a Medafighter. He is one of the very few individuals capable of fully controlling the powerful and unruly Redrun. His proficiency extends to video games, where he is the citys champion, a talent that forms the foundation of his competitive identity. His strategic mind is showcased in his early schemes to manipulate media footage, but his true ability lies in the direct combat prowess of his Kilobot, making him one of the most dangerous fighters in the series.
