Description
Biscuit Oliva, sometimes called Oliver in English adaptations, hails from Cuba before migrating to America. He rose as a high-paid mercenary for the U.S. government and other nations, hunting what conventional law enforcement couldn't touch. A past involving undisclosed crimes left him a convict, yet he serves as a specialized jailer maintaining order among Arizona State Prison's most dangerous. The government grants him extraordinary freedom within the prison walls, rewarding his services with expansive living quarters, a personal library, and massive meals. He embraces the name "Mr. Unchained" for this autonomy, though his attachment to these privileges later exposes psychological constraints.

An enormous African-American man with brown skin, short black hair, and a thin mustache, Oliva stands 190 cm tall and weighs 150 kg. Often mistaken initially for obese, his body is pure hyper-developed muscle. Typically smiling, he favors casual attire like red or purple shirts but fights in a speedo to display his physique. His muscles are so dense they repel close-range shotgun blasts, katana thrusts, and sharp knuckle strikes – strength he attributes to maintaining constant muscle tension. Training includes grounding helicopters barehanded. He possesses exceptional endurance, pain tolerance, and rapid regenerative abilities, healing severe wounds through copious steak and red wine.

Oliva blends extreme arrogance with above-average intelligence. He curates a vast prison library, studying subjects from toxicology to historical etiquette, though his combat knowledge falls short of Eastern masters. He respects law enforcement figures like Morio Sonoda, sharing camaraderie over drinks, yet despises challenges to his authority. Deeply devoted to his girlfriend Maria, he disregards societal judgments about her condition and carries her affectionately. However, his "unchained" identity crumbles when Baki Hanma mocks his perceived freedom, triggering rage that leads to petty retaliation like urinating on Baki during confinement, revealing vulnerability to psychological tactics.

Historically, Oliva encountered Yuujirou Hanma during a mission to assassinate a drug cartel leader. After killing the target, he challenged Yuujirou but was swiftly kicked aside; Yuujirou departed, deeming Oliva "not ready to be eaten." Oliva later expressed admiration for Yuujirou's potential. During the "Most Evil Death Row Convicts Saga," he helped hunt down escaped convicts. He killed corrupt cop Jeff Markson by tanking shotgun and katana attacks, then intervened in fights involving Sikorsky and Doyle. He briefly studied judo, dislocating his wrist while flipping master Gouki Shibukawa, who awarded him an honorary black belt. In the "Great Chinese Tournament Saga," he managed Dorian and fought adversaries like Kaiou You, whom he defeated via spine-breaking, and countered Shobun Ron's "Hand Pocket" stance with headbutts.

His prison dominance faced a challenge when Baki intentionally got arrested to fight him. After defeating Jun Guevara for the "Unchained" title, Oliva battled Baki but lost when Baki awakened the "Demon Face" technique, overpowering him through sheer force. Later, in "Baki Dou," he confronted Nomi no Sukune II in a sumo match but was defeated after Sukune destroyed a punching bag with grip strength. He recovered at Kureha Shinogi's rehabilitation center and later challenged Sukune to a street rematch, though outcomes remain undocumented.

Notable techniques include "The Orb," where he curls into a near-impervious sphere to deflect attacks or crush opponents Pac-Man-style, and "Handpocket," a defensive stance. His fighting style prioritizes brute force, though he occasionally amplifies striking power by accelerating blood flow. Controversially, a strike during the Guevara fight was so powerful it was initially interpreted as disrupting global GPS systems through seismic activity; later analysis attributed the disruption to military satellites tracking his movements exceeding 6 mph.
