Description
Great Britain, designated Cyborg 007, is a member of the 00 Cyborg team. His real name is never revealed, and he is sometimes referred to by the nickname G.B. Once a popular and celebrated stage actor in his native United Kingdom, he experienced a great fall from grace that left him disgraced, penniless, and struggling with alcoholism. It was during this vulnerable period that agents from the criminal organization Black Ghost exploited his condition, luring him with the promise of alcohol before capturing him and converting him into a cyborg against his will.

In terms of personality, Great Britain serves as the primary source of comic relief within the group. He is generally portrayed as jolly, goodhearted, and quick to lighten tense situations with humor and theatrical quotations, often from the works of Shakespeare. Despite his flaky and sometimes self-deprecating demeanor, he is deeply loyal to his teammates and displays great courage when they are in danger. This lighthearted exterior, however, masks significant inner turmoil. He carries profound regret over the mistakes of his past, particularly the guilt of abandoning his former girlfriend, Sophie, after he achieved fame. This regret is a central emotional driver for his character, and he is shown to struggle with his old drinking habits on occasion, indicating that his alcoholism remains a recurring battle.

Great Britain's primary motivation stems from a desire for atonement and a need to reconcile with his past. This is most clearly illustrated in an event where he encounters Rosa, the daughter of his former love Sophie. Believing Rosa might be his own child, he attempts to make amends for his past abandonment. Though initially rejected, he finds a path to redemption by stepping into a role in Rosa's theatrical production of Mists of London, the very play he and Sophie had once planned to perform together. Within the team, his role is often that of infiltrator and spy, using his unique abilities to gather intelligence and support his comrades in battle.

Great Britain shares a particularly notable relationship with Cyborg 006, Chang Changku. The two have a classic comedic love-hate dynamic, constantly bickering and teasing one another, yet this masks a deep-seated mutual respect and trust. He also shows an honorable and affectionate side towards women, most notably falling deeply in love with Cyborg 0012, despite her allegiance to Black Ghost, and risking his life to save her. Over the course of the story, his development is marked by a gradual confrontation with his past. While the shame of his former life and his addiction are persistent challenges, he learns to move forward, finding purpose and a new family with his fellow cyborgs. In later continuities, such as the film 009 Re:Cyborg, it is shown that after the team disbands, Great Britain has returned to his homeland and now works as an agent for the British Secret Intelligence Service, a fitting career that utilizes his espionage skills.

The most notable ability of Great Britain is his power to shapeshift. By pressing a switch located in his belly button, he can manipulate his cellular structure to transform into virtually anything he wishes. This includes other people, animals of various sizes, and inanimate objects. This power makes him invaluable for infiltration, espionage, and stealth missions, as he can perfectly mimic an enemy's appearance and, combined with his acting talent, their voice and mannerisms. He has also demonstrated the ability to flatten himself, blend into his surroundings, and even grow to gigantic proportions. He typically carries a standard-issue gun with three shooting modes as a sidearm. In some versions of the story, his abilities are later upgraded, allowing him to transform into an astral spirit to possess and control other beings.
