Description
Pete Richardson is a recurring member of the squadron in the anime Dino Mech Gaiking. Serving as the main pilot of the giant dragon-shaped carrier battleship Daikuu Maryuu, he operates at the heart of the Earth defense team while the lead robot Gaiking is piloted by Sanshiro Tsuwabuki. His position makes him one of the most technically responsible figures aboard the vessel.
His background explains much of his demeanor. Before joining the team, Richardson was a fighter pilot with the United States Marine Corps, described as a former top gun. His past contains a tragic event: his father, the captain of a cargo ship, once invited the family aboard the vessel, and during that time Pete became drunk and lowered his guard, an error that coincided with the ship sinking and the loss of both parents.
