Description
Bakuraiman is a robot character from the 1973 tokusatsu series Robot Keiji. He appears in the twenty-fourth episode, which is titled Bakuraiman: Scorching Strategy. He belongs to the criminal organization BAD and is designed with a theme based on depth charges. His head is covered in spikes resembling a naval mine, and he carries multiple explosive depth charges on his belt and abdomen. These bombs are his primary weapons, capable of destroying buildings with only a few hits. He also possesses a flamethrower mounted on his left hand, which he uses to keep opponents at a distance, and a chain launcher in his right hand that can restrain enemies. For escape, his back contains a built-in balloon and parachute that he activates by pressing a button on his side. His typical combat strategy involves using the flamethrower to drive back foes and then hurling depth charges at them.

Bakuraiman operates alongside a BAD operative designated N5, and together they carry out a scheme to extort money from multiple insurance companies by setting fires to insured buildings. His motivations are purely aligned with BAD's criminal objectives, and he shows no hesitation in using lethal force against both civilians and law enforcement. He acts as the primary enforcer of the plot, directly confronting the protagonist, Robot Detective K, on several occasions. During the episode, he is shown to be a persistent and dangerous adversary, but his depth charges are neutralized by K's fire-extinguishing liquid, which renders them inert. Eventually, after a prolonged battle, K destroys Bakuraiman when his escape balloon is shot down and he is hit by a missile. Bakuraiman has no character development beyond this single appearance, as he is a disposable tool of BAD created for a specific mission. His role is that of a one-episode antagonist who showcases the destructive capabilities of BAD's robot arsenal.
