Monsieur Hippocrate is an alchemist aristocrat from a world connected to a basement, who arrives with his apprentice, Pipo, on a quest to enlist the aid of the legendary Goddess of the Green Wind and restore harmony to his imperiled world. His suit bears an alchemy logo, and his facial structure—modeled after the character designer’s own—is distinguished by a mustache. Loosely inspired by Jude Law’s portrayal of Dr. Watson, he cuts an eccentric figure who identifies Akane as the goddess his world requires. Together with his apprentice, he guides Akane and her aunt on a journey through his magical realm. His assistant, Doropo, is designed with creative freedom as a biker bat wearing a helmet.
