TV-Series
Description
Hakuto Kunai is the central protagonist of the series, a character whose identity is defined by a fundamental duality. He is the physical embodiment of a powerful video game avatar, but his consciousness is that of Akira Oono, the middle-aged Japanese game creator who was transported to a fantasy world while logged into his own creation. In this new reality, Akira finds himself trapped within the body of Hakuto Kunai, the final boss and demon lord character he designed for his long-running MMORPG, the Infinity Game. His true identity is a forty-five-year-old man with the demeanor of a regular, albeit highly capable, office worker, a stark contrast to the terrifying figure he now presents to the world.

In terms of appearance, Hakuto Kunai projects an image of deliberate menace and authority. He is a tall man, standing at 187 centimeters, with long, slicked-back black hair and sharp, penetrating black eyes. His attire typically consists of a long black coat over a suit, accessorized with a crimson tie, which gives him the unmistakable look of a mafia boss or a high-ranking aristocrat. He is almost constantly seen smoking a special cigarette-like item called Mild Heaven, a habit that reinforces his dangerous image while also serving a practical purpose for the man inside. The cigarette helps Akira, who is often nervous beneath his calm facade, to calm his mind and buy himself valuable moments to think and assess situations.

The personality of Hakuto Kunai is a complex blend of his outward role and his inner self. The person known to the world is the Demon Lord of the Great Empire, a tyrannical and menacing figure who commands absolute authority. However, this is largely an act. The true personality, that of Akira Oono, is that of a relatively ordinary and sociable single man. He is shy around women, dislikes violence against humans, and detests being accused of crimes he did not commit. While he will not hesitate to use overwhelming force when he feels his actions are justified, he generally prefers to avoid unnecessary cruelty. He is a skilled actor and negotiator, using his long gaming experience and life as a working adult to maintain the fearsome illusion of his character in any situation. He hates being called old or an old man. Akira is aware of his own self-centered personality flaws, such as his single-minded focus on his own goals, and consciously seeks to compensate for them by relying on the talents of capable subordinates.

Hakuto Kunai's primary motivation upon arriving in the new world is to understand the circumstances of his transportation and find a way to return to his original world. As he navigates this unfamiliar reality, his goals expand to include amassing power and wealth, but this is often a means to an end. He shows a pragmatic side, being indifferent to the impoverished unless there is something to be gained, but he also displays an unexpected and secret compassion, most notably towards an orphaned girl named Aku, whom he essentially adopts. He judges people based on their merit and personality, not their race or status, and finds racial bigotry to be foolish. This meritocratic and pragmatic approach guides his actions as he builds his influence.

Within the story's role, Kunai is the driving force whose actions inadvertently reshape the world around him. His immense power and commanding presence cause everyone he meets to assume he is a genuine demon lord with a grand master plan. In reality, his decisions are often instinctual or based on practical needs, but the consequences are always significant. His journey involves dealing with the political and religious conflicts of the Holy Light Kingdom, forming unexpected alliances, and facing the remnants of the Satanist cult. His role is that of a catalyst, where his every action, from building infrastructure to defeating evil beings, is misinterpreted as a calculated move of a sinister genius, further cementing his terrifying reputation.

Key relationships are central to his development. His first and most important companion is Aku, a young girl he saves from a demon. His decision to protect and travel with her reveals the compassionate side of Akira Oono beneath the demon lord's exterior. He also forms a profitable partnership with Luna Elegant, one of the Three Holy Maidens, whose domain he restores. Furthermore, he can summon NPCs from his game, including powerful figures like Yu Kirino and Isami Tahara. These summoned beings believe him to be the true, ruthless administrator from the game, and they serve him loyally, providing the expertise in politics and other fields that he, as Akira, lacks.

The character undergoes significant development, which is intrinsically linked to his internal struggle. Akira Oono's consciousness shares the body with the original, in-game personality of Hakuto Kunai, a truly tyrannical and merciless being. While Akira’s personality is usually dominant, the original's violent and brutal nature can surface, especially when he is provoked or faces truly evil enemies. This internal conflict is a constant challenge, as Akira strives to remain true to his own morals while wielding the terrifying power and occasionally the influence of his avatar's original persona. Some depictions also show a physical transformation where his hair turns white and his eyes red, changing his appearance to that of a vampire king.

As for notable abilities, Hakuto Kunai is extraordinarily powerful, possessing the stats and skills of a final video game boss. Because he logged in as an administrator, he retains Admin Privileges, allowing him to use special commands to create items, summon his subordinates, and manipulate the world around him by spending skill points. He wields a special knife called Sodoms Fire. His physical defenses are immense, making him completely invulnerable to physical attacks from anyone below level thirty. His unique fighting style favors mid-to-long range attacks using his various skills. However, he has a critical weakness: he has no resistance to magic. Magic was not a mechanic in the Infinity Game, and in this new world, it is the one form of attack that can truly threaten him, forcing him to rely on tactical ingenuity against magical foes.
