Balton commands the knights of Evermore, a kingdom in another world, as their leader. He bears the title of the realm's finest swordsman and upholds a reputation for stern discipline.

When the Black Banner Army attacks, Balton courageously leads Evermore's forces into battle, displaying formidable strength until enemy soldiers overwhelm him. Bauer's intervention spares his life. Balton confronts profound shock upon unmasking Gnauss's betrayal—the knight's true identity as the traitorous Prince Sedulus Astrum. He attempts to shield Princess Astrid from Gnauss but suffers swift defeat at the traitor's hands.

After the conflict concludes with Galeroth's (Gavalas) defeat, Balton attends the coronation ceremony where Yu ascends as Evermore's new king.
