Heris Ardebit is the head scientist of the Foresight Foundation, reporting directly to Governor Kray Foresight. She is the older sister of Burning Rescue firefighter Aina Ardebit. Heris's primary motivation is ensuring Aina's safety and survival. Initially hired by Kray before the story's events to lead teleportation experiments on the Burnish—based on technology observed by Dr. Deus Prometh and Kray—Heris rejected the role but accepted under the condition that Aina secure a place on the Parnassus, a spacecraft intended to save select individuals from Earth's destruction. Characterized as hardworking, observant, and adaptable, Heris exhibits intense protectiveness toward Aina. This drives her to compromise her ethics, participating in morally questionable actions to secure her sister's future. She oversees painful experiments on captured Burnish individuals, utilizing them as the fuel source for the Promatech engine powering the Parnassus. Though occasionally reluctant and visibly uncomfortable with inflicted suffering—such as expressing shock when Kray assaults Galo Thymos—she rationalizes her continued cooperation as necessary for Aina. Heris shows minimal sympathy toward others outside her concern for Aina, though she demonstrates some regard for Galo due to her sister's positive descriptions of him. Her appearance features pale skin, bobbed pink hair, blue eyes, and occasionally depicted freckles. She typically wears a white lab coat over a dark green sweater, a grey skirt, black tights, white shoes with green segments, and rounded glasses. During key events, Heris conducts a successful teleportation test on a restrained Burnish employee, resulting in the loss of his hand. She later oversees a larger test using hundreds of captured Burnish, including Gueira and Meis, despite their audible suffering. When Galo is imprisoned for opposing Kray, Heris delivers his final meal and lies to Aina, claiming Galo attacked Kray. She instructs Aina to await the Parnassus boarding call, emphasizing her sister's survival as her sole motivation. At the Parnassus launch, Heris pleads desperately with Kray to delay departure for Aina. Kray refuses and threatens her with armed guards, forcing her to activate the Promatech engine. After Aina transmits evidence exposing Kray's murder of Dr. Prometh and the revelation that the migration plan accelerates Earth's destruction, Kray cuts the communication. Believing Kray silenced Aina, Heris retaliates by overloading the engine—knowingly causing additional pain to the Burnish fuel source—and flees. Pursued by Freeze Force, she leaps from a high platform and is caught by Aina in the Sky MS. Following her rescue, Heris assists Burning Rescue by collaborating with Lucia to construct a drill for Galo's use in confronting Kray and saving Lio Fotia. In the aftermath, she is seen standing alongside members of Burning Rescue, Freeze Force, and Kray. Her relationships define her actions: unwavering loyalty to Aina drives her choices, while her professional dynamic with Kray shifts from compliance to betrayal once he endangers Aina and his fraudulent plans are exposed.
