Description
Daisuke Nikaidō held the ace pitcher position for Meisei Academy's junior high baseball team, a role granted largely through favoritism extended by the coaching staff influenced by his father, the wealthy chairman of Nikaidou Electronics and a prominent school alumnus. This preferential treatment continued even with other talented pitchers like Toma Tachibana present.
Nikaidō faced a significant health challenge, diagnosed with a heart condition during his first year. He deliberately concealed this diagnosis from teammates and coaches; only his family, his doctor, and team manager Kuroyanagi knew. Despite the condition, he remained fiercely determined to play baseball and retain his pitching role.
