His appearance features spiky, swirly hair with a bandaged headband, and he wears the male school uniform loosely, jacket draped off his shoulders.

Recruited by the Student Council to disband the under-membered Cardfight Club, he dueled Leon Soryu. Despite unleashing a 51,000 Power attack with his Dark Irregulars deck, he suffered defeat when Leon trapped him using Last Card, Revonn and Blue Flight Dragon, Trans-core Dragon. Later, during the club survival challenge against the Cardfight Club, he faced Shingo Komoi. Attempting intimidation, he unwrapped his bandages to release "hidden powers," causing Shingo initial distress. Shingo recovered, however, overcoming the psychological tactic to secure victory.

After this loss, he observed the remaining matches and suggested to Student Council President Tatewaki Naitou that Misaki Tokura was manipulating events. Following the Cardfight Club's triumph, he and the entire Student Council joined the club to meet membership requirements. He promptly renamed it the "Cardfight Vanguard and Psychic Research Club." During a discussion about timeline inconsistencies affecting membership, he proposed a deviation in the "world line" – likened to a train rail guiding time – as an explanation, though others dismissed his theory.

He later appeared without his tattoos, supporting Leon during the VF High School Championship finals. At an unspecified point, the "Reverse" phenomenon affected him along with many other Miyaji Academy students. In a subsequent tournament at Card Capital, he began normally but reverted to his "paranormal researcher" persona mid-fight against Chrono. After the duel, Miwa inquired if he had secured employment, signaling his ongoing transition beyond school life.
