Description
Gouki Daimonji commands Team Handsome as a third-year student at Tokyo Metropolitan Harumi High School, fiercely determined to build Japan's strongest Vanguard team. His pirate-inspired look features a red bandana over medium-length black hair, an orange and white torn shirt beneath a brown vest, a red sash belt, baggy tan pants, knee-length brown boots, and distinctive orange eyes.

Excitably energetic and not particularly intellectual, Gouki nevertheless earns respect from aspiring cardfighters and leads Card Shop Voyage. He enthusiastically accepts cardfights against opponents of all levels, demonstrating reciprocal respect like welcoming Leon Soryu. He acts as a foil to his younger sister Nagisa, displaying marked submissiveness in their interactions and doting on her excessively, contributing to her spoiled nature. A misunderstanding led him to mistakenly believe Kamui Katsuragi avoided Nagisa's proposals due to a relationship with Aichi Sendou; Gouki challenged Aichi, accusing him of being a "home wrecker" to win Kamui back for Nagisa.

Competitively, Gouki secured second place in the Asia Circuit Championship prior to the High School Arc. Team Handsome competed in regional tournaments, notably facing Team Q4 where Gouki's loss to Aichi eliminated his team. In a later regional, Team Handsome fell to Team Avengers in the semifinals, preventing a rematch with Aichi. During the Asia Circuit, Team Handsome pursued the national championship with Kamui, though Katsuragi later rejoined Team Q4 after a match involving Garmore's limit break. This inspired Gouki to adapt his deck strategy, incorporating elements like Cocytus' power-enhancing limit break for endgame maneuvers.

Specializing in the Granblue clan, Gouki exploits resurrection mechanics to revive units from the drop zone continuously, enabling flexible guarding without permanent loss. His signature tactic involves superior calling his starting vanguard, Guiding Zombie, for an early free attack before replacing it with resurrected units, favoring left-side placements for this switch. He utilizes superior ride lines to conserve hand resources while pressuring opponents with power-gaining units. His ultimate maneuver fills the soul with units like Rough Seas Banshee to activate King of Demonic Seas, Basskirk's megablast, superior calling up to five units from the drop zone for multiple high-power attacks. His initial "Infinite Resurrection Hell" deck centered on Basskirk with support units like Captain Nightmist and Ruin Shade. Witnessing Aichi's limit break prompted Gouki to develop "Criminal Strom," focusing on Cocytus and using Captain Nightkid to accumulate drop zone resources while maintaining card advantage via Dancing Cutlass.

In later arcs, Gouki continues working at Card Shop Voyage during high school. His rivalry with Q4 persists, and he remains an active tournament participant.
