Description
Erin Kohagura (also known as Ellen Kohagura) is a first-year student at Osafune Girls' Academy, born to Japanese father Kimitake Kohagura and American mother Jacqueline Anne Kohagura, making her half-Japanese and half-American. Her grandfather, Richard Friedman, pioneered S-Equipment development, granting her extensive knowledge of Noro technology.
She possesses straight, waist-length blonde hair, usually styled with a black headband and bangs falling on her left side. Her eyes are a distinct bluish-purple or violet, and she stands notably tall at 172 cm. Her attire consists of the Osafune Girls' Academy uniform, paired with black high-heeled Mary Janes and asymmetrical white stockings.
Erin is a cheerful moodmaker who maintains a constant smile and simplistic demeanor. She readily forms friendly connections, creating nicknames for those she meets in combat. However, she exclusively uses the actual name for her close friend and partner, Kaoru Mashiko, after the early nickname "Oruoru" was rejected. Despite her upbeat nature, she demonstrates cleverness and bravery, notably protecting comrades and executing tactical plans. She once successfully concealed her true intentions from Suzuka Konohana, a tactical expert in the Origami Family's Elite Guard.
In combat, Erin specializes in Taisha-Ryu swordsmanship, characterized by energetic hops, spins, and incorporating kenpo techniques, thrusts, and kicks. She wields the uchigatana "Echizen Yasutsugu," crafted by Tokugawa-era swordsmith Yasutsugu Echizen, and carries a concealed knife in her shoe heel. Her abilities include expert hand-to-hand combat, immense durability using Kongoushi defense techniques, and proficiency in maintaining Utsushi for extended battle periods. She participated in the National Swordsmanship Tournament, losing to Hiyori Juujou.
She appears in the chibi-style spin-off *Mini Toji*, set during a four-month interval in the main series, interacting with other characters while maintaining her established personality and design. Merchandise, such as an acrylic figure, reflects her depiction in this spin-off.
