Description
Momotarou Nobi, often called Momota, is a twelve-year-old boy originating from Sendai. He possesses light brown hair, a round face, and notably large eyes, contributing to his youthful and cute appearance. The components of his name hold specific meanings: "Momo" translates to peach, "taro" signifies first son, and "nobi" means wildfire. Team Spring members frequently mispronounce his name as Nobimomo Taro, Momota, or Nobita.

Prior to cryonic preservation, little is known about his family background, though a side chapter glimpse suggests a positive relationship with his mother. He attended school in Tokyo while residing in a dormitory, indicating separation from his Sendai home.

Momotarou exhibits high intelligence, an exceptional memory, and keen observational skills. Characterized as cheeky, cheerful, and quick-witted, he adapts rapidly to the harsh post-apocalyptic environment, demonstrating resourcefulness and a strong desire to contribute to his team's survival. He previously participated in public shows showcasing his intellectual abilities.

His story involvement begins when he greets Team Spring's returning food retrieval team on their awakening island. He plays an early role by explaining to Hana Sugurono that the island's ecosystem resembles the Carboniferous Era due to the absence of vertebrates and dominance of giant insects. Following the death of their guide, Yanagi, the team relocates to mainland Kanto. A subsequent landslide destroys their camp and separates Momotarou from the group.

He is later discovered and cared for by Ayu. However, he eventually realizes her care was motivated by using him as a test subject for experimental medicines. He also endures torture by Ango, who forces him to scale dangerous rock formations and uses him as live bait to attract predators. Rescued by Hana, whom he deeply admires and loves, he expresses immense relief. Following an attack by White Piranha Bats, Team Spring temporarily joins Team Summer A. Although unhappy with this arrangement, Momotarou accepts its necessity and remains closely attached to Hana, Aramaki, and Haru.

Hana's subsequent disappearance, presumed death, devastates him, leading him to seek emotional support from Haru. He is later forced to evacuate the Summer A base alongside other community members due to a bushfire, embarking once more toward an uncertain future. During this journey, he befriends a juvenile dog named Ball. This dog locates him and plays a crucial role in transmitting his call for help back to Hana and the rest of the group.
