Description
Yūki Masashi is a student at Seidou High School and the younger brother of former Seidou captain Yūki Tetsuya. Having previously attended Akadou Junior High, he was the popular fourth batter for Kokubun Senior during his junior high years. His appearance is marked by a well-built frame, broad shoulders, a close-shaved haircut, and a serious expression, often accompanied by a distinctive cut on his eyebrows.
Deeply serious about baseball, Masashi dreams of playing in the Major League. He exhibits a competitive nature and often emits a fiery aura when observing others play, particularly fellow first-year players. Confident in his own abilities—more so than his older brother—he aims to play every position to avoid limiting his opportunities.
He first appeared watching Seidou High's intra-squad game alongside Takashima Rei, where he concluded the team lacked offense and required a power batter surpassing his brother, subtly hinting at himself as the answer. Later, he attended Seidou's finals match against Yakushi High in the Fall Tournament, informing his junior high peers—Okumura, Seto, and Akamatsu—of his decision to enroll at Seidou.
Upon entering Seidou High, Masashi and Yui Kaoru were quickly promoted to the First String ahead of the Spring Tournament. He made his official batting debut during the quarterfinals, initially striking out but later hitting a two-run walk-off home run to end the match. After his debut, however, he experienced repeated strikeouts in practice games and demonstrated fielding difficulties, occasionally committing errors. To improve his defense before the summer tournament, he received fielding tips from third-year players Asou, Seki, and Mimura. During the summer training camp, he displayed an interest in shogi and challenged Miyuki to a game, noting that his brother had identified Miyuki as the team's best shogi player.
Wearing number 15 on the summer tournament roster, Masashi was one of three first-year players to secure a spot. His power-hitting proved valuable, such as in the first summer tournament game where he ended the match with a seventh-inning home run.
His abilities include overwhelming batting power, excellent body balance, and good running speed. As the fourth batter in junior high, he shares similarities with his brother in explosive hitting and the desire to play multiple positions. He possesses a strong throwing arm but requires improvement in tracking fly balls. He achieved a home run in his first official debut match, mirroring his brother's early accomplishment, though he has since struggled with making consistent contact against live pitches.
Masashi shares a familial bond with his older brother, Yūki Tetsuya, who noted that Masashi operates at his own pace but has already surpassed his own first-year capabilities. They share an interest in shogi. He is also classmates and first-string teammates with Yui Kaoru, often observing upperclassmen practices together. His frequent stomach growls have been noted to disrupt Yui's concentration.
Trivia notes indicate that, due to living close to the school, he resides off-campus with his family. He attends morning practice and breakfast at school but brings a bento from home for lunch. His name etymology translates to "Forming Castle" for Yūki and "Prefect Officer" for Masashi.
Within team dynamics, his potential to play first base like his brother was noted as a possibility that could impact existing player positions. In intra-squad competitions, he and Yui were established as key first-year players, often maintaining their positions in the lineup without substitution, with Yūki frequently playing in the outfield.
