Beneath his statesman façade lies profound narcissism and hypocrisy. Shido deems himself a divinely chosen savior, dismissing the public as inferior pawns. This delusion materializes in his Metaverse Palace, a luxury cruise ship embodying his belief that only the “worthy” deserve survival. Propaganda-laden halls and cognitive constructs within the Palace mirror his godlike self-image, broadcasting relentless affirmations of his supremacy.
Shido’s machinations rely on a web of corrupt allies—politicians, Yakuza, and corporate elites—to silence dissent and eliminate opposition. He weaponizes his illegitimate son, Goro Akechi, deploying him to induce mental shutdowns and psychotic breaks among rivals.
