TV-Series
Description
Takina Inoue is a Lycoris agent, a member of a secret government task force composed of orphaned girls who eliminate criminals and terrorists in Tokyo while posing as high school students. She has long black hair and purple eyes. During operations, she wears the standard navy blue Lycoris uniform with black knee-high socks and brown loafers. At Café LycoReco, her attire is a cerulean blue samue with dark blue and yellow accents, a dark blue kimono skirt, and a beige apron.

An exceptionally skilled agent with a realistic and efficiency-focused mindset, Takina initially perceives her transfer to Café LycoReco as punishment. This stems from disobeying orders during a mission where she prioritized rescuing a colleague over operational safety, compromising the cover of other agents. Her background includes rigorous training within Direct Attack (DA), working under Fuki Harukawa prior to her dismissal. Partnered at LycoReco with the cheerful, non-lethal Chisato Nishikigi, Takina is initially dissatisfied due to their contrasting philosophies. Her primary motivation upon joining is to earn reinstatement to DA through exemplary mission results, defining her early interactions with a focus on efficiency and professionalism. She gradually adapts to the café’s broader range of tasks, including childcare, shopping, and relationship counseling alongside combat operations.

Takina’s development unfolds through evolving relationships and perspectives. On an escort mission with hacker Walnut (later revealed as Kurumi), she witnesses Chisato’s bullet-dodging abilities and participates in faking Kurumi’s death, leading to Kurumi joining LycoReco. A visit to DA headquarters underscores Takina’s lingering desire for reinstatement; after rejection and ridicule from former colleagues, Chisato defends and consoles her. This prompts Takina to tentatively engage in LycoReco’s social activities, like board game nights. Shared experiences, such as shopping trips and an aquarium visit, deepen her bond with Chisato. At the aquarium, Takina overcomes embarrassment to mimic a garden eel to lift Chisato’s spirits when discussing her past with the Alan Institute.

Critical revelations further shape her. During a mission protecting an elderly paralyzed man targeted by assassin Silent Jin, Takina discovers Chisato’s artificial heart. Later, in a private moment, she lays her head on Chisato’s chest to confirm the absence of a heartbeat, highlighting her growing protectiveness. When terrorist threats escalate, Takina moves in with Chisato; their domestic life includes playful rock-paper-scissors games to divide chores, with Takina initially losing consistently before finally winning and celebrating joyfully. This period solidifies her commitment to LycoReco, shifting her goal from rejoining DA to protecting her newfound home.

Takina’s relationship with Chisato becomes central. Learning that Mika (LycoReco’s manager) has secret meetings, Takina collaborates with the team to investigate, fearing the café’s closure. In later confrontations, including a terrorist attack led by Majima, she assists Chisato’s escape through coordinated efforts with Kurumi and Mizuki. These events culminate in Takina fully embracing LycoReco as her home, prioritizing her partnership with Chisato over institutional loyalty. Her development concludes with a deepened sense of belonging and a commitment to the café’s ethos of preserving life, contrasting her earlier rigid adherence to protocol.

In spin-offs and crossovers like the light novel "Recovery Days" and the original net animation "Friends are thieves of time," her traits as a cool-headed professional balancing efficiency with team loyalty remain consistent. A crossover with "Magia Record" depicts her as a magical girl rationalizing her costume’s practicality, reinforcing her disdain for inefficiency. In this storyline, her wish is "Please save Chisato," reflecting her enduring dedication.
